Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of hip abductor strengthening training in patients with hypoxic-ischemic brain injury with freezing of gait (FOG).

Methods: The study was designed the single-subject experimental design (ABA). The participant was 32 years old women who was diagnosed quadriplegia with hypoxic-ischemic brain injury. The intervention was performed hip abductor strengthening training based on the Bobath concept for 1 hour a session, for five weeks. The outcome was measured Angulo-meter for pelvic symmetricity, Biorescue for limit of stability (LOS), 10-meter walk test and video analysis.

Results: The results showed that the participant improved the symmetricity of pelvic lateral height and weight bearing, LOS and gait speed than the baseline after intervention. It was also maintained during the regression process.

Conclusion: This study demonstrated hip abductor strengthening showed significant improvement in postural symmetricity, balance and gait speed in hypoxic-ischemic brain injured with FOG.
